About the Artist

I began my art career by studying Graphic Design at George Brown College in Toronto. Born in Scarborough, my hobbies included hiking the Rouge Valley area and Scarborough Bluffs, gathering reference and photographing birds and wildlife for my paintings. I also volunteered at the Toronto Humane Society, working directly with wildlife. This hands on experience was very beneficial to understanding the animals, soon to become my subjects. With the excitement of a few successful art shows I gave up the career in graphic design and have been enjoying painting as a professional artist for more than twenty years. I have had my work reproduced as Christmas Cards, Conservation Stamps and Limited Edition Prints for Ducks Unlimited Canada. I am a proud supporter of many wildlife organizations such as Endangered Species Fund of Canada, Japan Wildlife Centre and locally, Wild at Heart. Since moving to Beaver Lake (just west of Sudbury) over 15 years ago, I am now an active participant in the northern art community. Although art sometimes has to take a back seat to the activities of my children, it's a great feeling to see the passion I have for wildlife, shared in the eyes of my two boys.
